Michael Trimble
Impact Medical Director
Michael is a Clinical Reader in the Centre for Medical Education at Queen’s University Belfast and a Consultant in Acute Medicine at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.
He studied medicine at the University of Dundee before returning to Belfast where he trained in General Internal Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics. During training, he developed an interest in the delivery of acute medical care and was appointed as Consultant in Acute Medicine in the Belfast City Hospital – the first such post in Northern Ireland.
He has been involved in postgraduate medical training including as Training Programme Director for Acute Medicine and Head of School of Medicine at NIMDTA. He has been involved in the planning and delivery of the IMPACT course for trainees, as an instructor, course director and member of the curriculum development group.
